V: The Ultimate Variety Show

June 29-Sept. 5, Trump Plaza Theatre

Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, along with David Saxe Productions will present V: The Ultimate Variety Show, taking the stage for a 10-week summer engagement Tuesday, June 29 through Sunday, Sept. 5. Showtimes are Tuesday to Thursday, 8pm; Friday, 9pm; Saturday, 3 and 8pm and Sunday, 3 and 7pm. Tickets are $25.

V: The Ultimate Variety Show is a combination of the “Best of the Best” award-winning variety acts from around the world, including the amazing vocals of Bianca Ryan who won the debut season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent at age 11 and released her first album at age 12. The show also features Jason Byrne, winner of the Golden Lion’s Head Award presented by master illusionists Siegfried and Roy. He was voted “Stage Magician of the Year” by The Academy of Magical Arts two years in a row.

A Christmas Showcase

Parents lifted children on their shoulders in a classic response to a classic event: the 29th Old Fashioned Christmas Parade, which wound through the streets of downtown West Chester Friday night.

"It's a true love for this town," said Bob Gross, who is involved with the Chester County Community Foundation. "I talk about West Chester and I say: Could you imagine living in a Norman Rockwell painting?"

Bianca Ryan, the winner of the first season of the television competition "America's Got Talent" in 2006, also performed, first from her float then from the steps of the courthouse immediately prior to the tree-lighting ceremony.

Marcocci, who runs the West Chester-based company Under the Sun Productions, produces large parades, such as the Ikea Thanksgiving Parade (formerly the Boscov's Parade) in Philadelphia — all over the country.

"He's taken it to the next level," said Katie Walker, president of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce. She also credits Marcocci with connecting the parade in a partnership with Channel 6 ABC, which served as a major sponsor and covered the parade.

"I look at parades as moving stage-show productions," said Marcocci, who said he wanted to keep the Victorian feel of the town but advance the event artistically and creatively.

The center of this year's production, Ryan, who grew up in Philadelphia, is only 14, but she has already toured internationally, recently returning from Japan.

"This is one of my favorite parades to do," said Ryan. "There's so much support, it's amazing."

She felt extremely welcomed by West Chester, she said.

Reading pays off for Parsippany students!
Intervale School wins NJEA Read Across NJ Contest

Representatives of Radio Disney were at the Intervale School in Parsippany to reward the K5 school for its participation in a New Jersey Education Association reading contest. The reward included a performance by Bianca Ryan, a 13-year-old singer who won the 'America's Got Talent' show two years ago. She signs autographs for young fans, who wave their arms during her performance.

The school finished fourth in the same contest last year and school Principal Christopher Waack challenged the kids to do better this year and they did, reading a total of 21,867 books between Nov. 1, 2007, and Feb. 1, 2008. The total averages out to 71.46 books read by each student. Teacher Rose DeFilippo organized the contest at the school, which required the students keep a log of their reading and write a short report on each book.

Noted singer to perform at YWCA awards

Bianca Ryan, the popular singer from the Philadelphia area who has appeared on major television shows and entertained audiences throughout Europe, will perform at the YWCA of Bucks County's 17th Annual Salute to Women Who Make a Difference Awards Dinner on Thursday evening, May 8 at Spring Mill Manor in Ivy-land. Only 13 years of age, this singing prodigy was the winner of the premier season of America's Got Talent.

Simon Cowell, best known for his role on American Idol, was so amazed at her vocal range and ability that he proclaimed during a television interview that 'Bianca Ryan is potentially one of the best singers I have ever heard in my life.'

As word of her talent has spread, she has had the opportunity to work with some of the most gifted writers and producers in the music industry.

Ryan currently records on the SYCO Music label, run by Cowell.

At one time a regular performer on Star Search, Bianca Ryan has sung before audiences at a wide variety of venues and has been invited to sing at Madison Square Garden seven times.

In fact, she has been one of the busiest National Anthem singers on the East Coast, performing at games for the New Knicks, The New Jersey Nets, The Philadelphia 76er's, and also singing at NASCAR events, just to name a few.

Ryan toured throughout Europe during the winter of 2006-2007, and this past summer embarked on a 29-city tour of the United States with Disney artists Aly & AJ, Corbin Bleu, and Nickelodeon star Drake Bell.

She has also appeared and was a featured guest on Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, The NBC Today Show, Showtime at the Apollo and many more.

Shinnyo-en Foundation Launches Global Six Billion Paths to Peace Initiative

On March 20, 2008, the Shinnyo-en Foundation will launch the Six Billion Paths to Peace initiative globally, encouraging all people to pledge their commitment to promote harmony and peace through meaningful acts of service.

In one year, the Shinnyo-en Foundation hopes to have inspired one million people to pledge their Path to Peace. To commemorate the launch, a full-day "Path to Peace" event in Times Square invites the public to consider the daily contributions they can make to create a more harmonious world. Following the activities in Times Square, the evening's Pathfinders to Peace Awards Gala and Forum will convene hundreds of leaders from the philanthropic, academic, religious, business, political, artistic, and cultural communities to illuminate, exemplify, and amplify their commitments and contributions to their communities.

Path to Peace in Times Square

The day will begin with a literal Path to Peace constructed in the heart of Times Square -- one of the busiest places on earth. The Path to Peace, open to the public from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT, is a lush garden oasis amidst the bustle of New York City, demonstrating that no matter where you are or who you are, it is possible to find and create peace.

Celebrities and dignitaries, including Mr. Inouye, Henry Lozano (Deputy Assistant to President Bush and Director of USA Freedom Corps), and Bianca Ryan (winner of America's Got Talent), will lay the final stones to complete the actual Path to Peace on Military Island in Times Square. Ms. Ryan will also perform at the event. The Kindred Spirits Children's Jazz Choir, a group of children drawn from three choirs around the metropolitan area, will perform throughout the morning. Several Shinnyo-en Foundation grantees and the general public will be encouraged to submit their personal Path to Peace, which can be as simple as committing to carpool with others or holding doors open for strangers.

Hi everyone, this is very exciting news. As you may know Bianca's a huge Disney fan, (Radio Disney, The Disney Channel and anything that has Disney on it).

Well today I picked her and Bella up from school as I always do when I am not on the road, and while heading home at approx. 4 PM EST we were listening to the radio (what else) Radio Disney. Bianca started to hyperventilate so I got very concerned and pulled over right away, I had no idea at first what was wrong and than I realized a very familiar song coming through my car speakers it was "Why Couldn't It Be Christmas Everyday" Bianca's ear is so keen that she know it from the first note. She was actually being Played on Radio Disney which caused her to get so excited that she couldn't catch her breath.

It was so amazing to see the look of accomplishment in her face and to see her little sister Bella just sit up as proud as a peacock that her big sister's hard work was paying off. We sat in that car and almost cried with joy. Afterwards we just started to high five eachother and celebrate.

Bianca wanted to share this on her journal here but she forgets how to login and do all that stuff. Thank you all so much for all your help and if you get a second please call or email Radio Disney to thank them for believing in Bianca enough to play her song on their station. If we let them know that we appreciate this I'm sure they will continue playing Bianca's Christmas song.

Philadelphia City Council Honors Bianca Ryan

Bianca was an invited guest of honor at the Philadelphia City Council meeting today, Thursday February 1st 2007. The reason Council requested Bianca’s presence was to present her with a resolution in her name for accomplishments that go above and beyond the expectations of a person of her age. After a long list of the young star’s accomplishments were read by several of the council members, council woman Joan Krajewski presented the Resolution. Bianca was asked to say a few words; she gave thanks to God "who is first in my life, for this amazing journey I'm on" and then thanked the members of council. She said that the show of love and support from the people here and all around the world have truly encouraged her to be the best person she can be, on and off stage. Bianca then surprised council by walking in front of the podium, picking up a wireless microphone from another table and performing "I Am Changing" from the Broadway musical, and now the major motion picture "Dream Girls". This is also the song she performed on the finale of "America's Got Talent". The entire council chamber showed their gratitude with two standing ovations.

After the event Bianca spoke with a fan of hers and told her that one of her wishes is to encourage "kids of all ages to dare to dream, dream big, really big, because your dreams can come true. I mean it was about 6 months ago I was singing in my basement with a hairbrush for a microphone dreaming of having my own TV show and being a professional singer, now I have a recording contract and I'm touring and singing all around the world".

The city of Philadelphia will honor their hometown superstar with two special events in celebration of Bianca’s success. Philadelphia’s Mayor Street has declared Monday November 13th “Bianca Ryan Day.” In a ceremony taking place at City Hall, Bianca will be presented with a Liberty Bell and City Proclamation. Additionally, Bianca will perform on her own float in the City of Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Bianca has officially signed a 5 CD recording contract with Syco-Columbia records! The deal was finalized on Monday September 18th just minutes before Bianca stepped on stage at the Nokia Theatre in New York City to perform to a packed house of the world’s biggest record executives. Bianca and her family are needless to say ecstatic for this amazing opportunity.

Bianca and her family would like to thank all the people at Syco/Columbia/Sony/BMG Records for believing in her enough to offer this amazing opportunity to begin her recording career with them.

The event at the Nokia Theatre is put together by the record label to show off some of their most talented bands, groups, and singers. Bianca was one of only a handful honored to be invited to perform there. Bianca's first CD will be on sale in stores on Tuesday, November 14th.
